Get ready to mark your calenders for the following corresponding console systems: October 21, 2014 — Playstation 3, 4 ; PC October 22, 2014 — Xbox 360, Xbox One Watch IGN take a seat with the creators Mike DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko as well as voice actors Janet Varney (Korra) and David Faustino (Mako) as they discuss the video-game, Book 3's finale, and the upcoming Book 4! Yes. It is official. Book 3: Change has officially been moved to digital presentation. After this Friday's premiere of The Terror Within at 8/7c, the remaining 5 episodes of the season will be aired online only. Starting August 1st, the supported platforms including Amazon, Google Play, Xbox, Hulu, Nick.com, and the Nick App will be some of the only places where new episodes will premiere. Hey Korra Nation! Phew. Some of you may have heard versions of this news elsewhere, but here’s the official word. After this Friday’s on-air premiere of Episode 8 “The Terror Within” at 8/7c, all remaining Book 3 episodes will move to a digital rollout. That means two things: 1) Korra is NOT cancelled, 2) the remaining episodes will roll out weekly on Nick.com and the Nick app beginning August 1, as well as on platforms like Amazon, Google Play, Xbox and Hulu.
Thousands of you have been asking to watch this incredible show online, so hopefully this news works in your favor. Mike and Bryan created a breath-taking season for us all…so get ready to watch it all go down!!!

Nickelodeon recently confirmed an update regarding the schedule of Legend of Korra's Book 3 through their Twitter in response to a tweet. A Korra-fan tweeted, asking them if episodes 4 & 5 will be premiering the same day. Unusually enough, Nick responded, confirming that the two episodees will be airing together.
Personally, I found it quite surprising due to the fact that Nickelodeon has had a reputation for ignoring Korra fan's and their yearning tweets for season updates. Nonetheless, it was confirmed and now we have the follwoing information in our hands: Episode 4 titled In Harms Way and episode 5 titled The Metal Clan will be airing together on Friday, July 11, 2014. Of course, their will be no new episodes for the previous week due to Independence Day in the United States. Also released by Nick was an exclusive clip from Episode 4 of Book 3:
Recently announced was the Library Edition of The Rift trilogy. The selection, like previous Avatar comic library editions, will contain all volumes of the series (The Rift Parts 1 through 3) in a collective set manner. This collection set of all three Rift comic books is expected to release on February 24, 2015. Furthermore, this set is also expected to contain a brand new sketchbook section!

The Legend of Korra artbook is a hardcover collection of behind-the-scenes production content such as never before seen sketches, artwork and scenery. Titled Art of the Animated Series, it contains captions and content from the creators and production teams themselves, as they present how the season was put together. As a follow up for Book 2, this season's Art of the Animated series has officially been listed for release on September 16, 2014. The Legend of Korra Book 2: Spirits has been announced for release on Blu-Ray & DVD editions for this summer. July 1, 2014 is when the sets will be officially available for public purchase and distribution.

The final installment of The Rift comic trilogy has just been announced. Avatar: The Rift Part 3 will be releasing on November 18, 2014. The comic will be written by Gene Luen Yang, illustrated by Gurihiru (a Japanese illustration studio), and published by Dark Horse Comics. The book is already available on Amazon for pre-ordering.

Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is an internationally-recognized event in which local participating comic book shops across the world distribute free comics to anyone who comes into their stores. It is held each year on the first Saturday of May, this year's being on May 3rd.
Avatar comics have been present among the several titles offered at FCBD for the past few years. This year's comic selection of 2014 will feature, yet again, another short Avatar comic book.
Gene Luen Yang, who contributed towards The Promise, The Search and the The Rift trilogies, will be returning to work on this year's exclusive story. I was able to contact him and he provided me with a few details on the comic. He told me that Faith Erin Hicks will be joining him in the production of the comic by completing the illustrations. Yang also introduced a a little bit about the storyline as well: "It stars Suki and Sokka. We were able to incorporate some Kyoshi Warrior back story that Bryan and Mike described to us, that didn't make it into the original animated series," tells Yang to UltimateKorra.
Additionally, Dark Horse Comics (who are the publishers) even have a short description regarding the comic on their website: Sokka follows Suki as she gives a lesson in manners and encourages a young girl’s strength. The past few months were quite interesting amongst the Korra fandom. Fans have eagerly waited and enjoyed bits and scraps of Korra news here and there, in hopes that it would all lead to the return of their favorite animated series. Avatar - The Rift is a new upcoming comic-book trilogy series based on the storyline from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Rift Part 1 will be releasing on March 5, 2014. A sequel series to The Search comic-books (which is a continuation of The Promise), this series is said to focus on Aang and the process of creating Republic City. It's official! Avatar: The Legend of Korra will be returning in September 2013 for Book 2: Spirits. Announced at the San Diego Comic-Con, the LOK panel not only presented the release for season 2, but also news, information, and even the first episode from Book 2. Although no specific date has been given as of now, it is still assumed that the premiere will follow the normal schedule of 11:00 AM on a Saturday, just like Book 1. With over 4.5 million views world-wide, Legend of Korra has truly become a sensational television series. Viewers from all over the world now enjoy LoK, including the UK & Ireland. As Book 2: Spirits steadily approaches, the fans have been getting more and more news to add on to the buzz. Canadian channel, YTV recently announced that season 2 of Legend of Korra will be premiering this fall 2013 in Canada. Furthermore, it was not too long ago that Nickelodeon released the first book 2 promo commercial. Hence, we'll definitely be seeing Korra soon.
One of the largest press events of the year for shows like The Legend of Korra is the San Diego Comic Con. As many of you are aware, this event is presented to the media on behalf of different shows and networks for upcoming news, release dates, etc. While the actual Comic-Con 2013 date was released quite some time ago, it was not until yesterday that Nickelodeon announced the dates for the Legend of Korra Panel. Comic Con occurs around mid-July throughout a period of 3 days. Legend of Korra will have its panel on Friday, July 19 from 11:15 AM ― 12:15 PM in Ballroom 20.

The creators of Avatar and Korra, Mike DeMartino and Bryan Konietzko, have finally recived their copy of the Legend of Korra art-book. The Art of the Animated Series is the highly anticipated book based on Season 1 of Korra, containg hundreds of never-before-seen artwork and personalized captions from the creators themselves. Developed by Dark Horse Comics, the art-book is scheduled to release July 24, 2013 for $34.99. However, the book is available for pre-order on the Dark Horse Comics website.

Although there hasn't been too many news updates on Legend of Korra Season 2 in the past few weeks, we do have a Book 2 update today. Eric Goldman, executive editor of IGN, was able to tweet some information on LOK from the Nickelodeon Animation Press Event. He tells the fans that while he doesn't have an exact month or date for the Legend of Korra season 2 release date, he does have a confirmation. According to his tweet, Book 2 will be premiering later in 2013.

Although we weren't able to get the action scene Goldman refers to in his tweet, we were able to get some good news. Hopefully, this ends all, if any, false rumours about Book 2 premiering in 2014 or later. This exciting news means that Korra fans finally have something to look forward too. The highly anticipated animated series from Nickelodeon, The Legend of Korra, finally has a release date for Nickelodeon UK and Ireland. According to NickALive and SkyMedia UK, Legend of Korra Book 1 will be premiering on Sunday, May 12th 2013 in the United Kingdom as well as Ireland.
